Dachshund
Long body, bold heart.
Dachshunds are brave, clever and comical. Originally bred to hunt badgers, they are tenacious and sometimes stubborn. Protecting their long backs is the most important part of their care.

Daily care
Indoors. Use ramps or steps for furniture and limit stair use.
Keep lean — extra weight dramatically raises the risk of back injury.
30–60 minutes of walking and play; avoid jumping from heights.
Depends on coat: smooth needs little; long and wire coats need regular brushing.
