Can cats eat avocado?
!Caution for cats
Not a good idea. Avocado isn’t known to be very toxic to cats, but it’s fatty and offers them nothing.
What’s the risk?
Cats are strict carnivores and don’t need fruit. The fat can upset the stomach, and the skin and pit are hazards. Guacamole contains onion and garlic, which are toxic.
Signs to watch for
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
How much is dangerous?
A lick is unlikely to cause harm. Avoid guacamole entirely.
If your cat ate some
Call your vet if your cat ate guacamole or seems unwell.
